BOOMER

Boomer is a lovely one year old boxer boy who is full of life and energy! He loves to play and is good with other dogs. He is currently looking for his forever home!

The following are courtesy Listings (these dogs are not with BRQ but still need good homes):
Listing de courtoisie (ces chiens ne sont pas avec Secours Boxer Quebec mais ont quand même besoin d'une nouvelle famille permanente):

A beautiful pure Husky gave birth in the snow to 5 pups.  Two died of hypothermia, but three were saved.

Two were adopted at 8 weeks, but still left is a little female 9 weeks old. Mother is also up for adoption, and only 1 year old. Father is a pure Malamute.

The mother has a lovely disposition.  Both are extremely good looking dogs of their breed. Please contact Francine Roch with any inquiries.

THELMA (IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THELMA, PLEASE CONTACT bullies_in_need@hotmail.com )

Meet Thelma - this 10 years young, grey faced boxer/American Bulldog mix may have the outer shell of a senior dog but she is not yet ready for retirement. Thelma absolutely loves walks - long walks. She is great on leash and if given the chance would walk all day and take in the wonderful world around her. The extra weight shes been carrying is quickly shedding with her drive for exercise.
She is happy go lucky and loves everything about life. Peaple, car rides, bum scratches! Her tail never stops wagging and as a result she's got a cut on the tip of her tail from banging it against walls, so that is healing.

Thelma can get along with confident dogs who are not in her face trying to play but who are also not so timid that they afraid of her. She does not care to share her toys or food with other dogs but will gladly give up any yummy treat she has to a person! She is best suited to a home with no cats.

Thelma is looking for a home that can resist her "only a mother could love it" face and will give this lady the erercise and boundaries she requires to be truely happy. She seems used to getting her own way and will push her weight around if allowed (pushing up onto your lap, pushing open half closed doors, hopping over baby gates). Of course, some belly rubs and scratches need to be included into her daily routine as well.
Thelma is up to date on vaccines and is recently spayed. She has some "old lady lumps" which have been checked and cleared by the vet as nothing of concern.

Reese

Reese is a 4 year old boxer-lab mix that we have had since July 2007.  She is a beautiful dog with lots of love to give. Reese has been hit by a car when she was 1 year old and this resulted in a slight loss of hearing in her right ear and some nervousness and anxious behavior. Because she has some difficulty hearing, this causes her to be uncertain of new people and a bit nervous in general.

She is a dog that will need a person that she will trust with a relatively calm home with as little distractions as possible. She is visually oriented and will pick-up on hand signals quite quickly. It has in fact been proven that dogs like Reese respond better and learn commands faster by teaching hand signals than verbal commands alone. Reese has been walked on a leash but is always anticipating that something will happen, so this makes her bark at strangers ( out of fear ) in whatever area she is in, even at home. She needs a home with preferably no young children, Reese just needs to know that she is safe and that nothing unexpected is going to happen.

I would urge anyone looking for a wonderful dog to consider Reese despite her hearing loss and need for a patient owner. I hope there is someone out there who will see Reese not as <special need> but rather just as Special.

Please contact us if you are able to, or know anybody that, can give a loving home to Reese and understand her needs. We want to re-home her because we have 2 small children and she needs more time than we can give her.

Valley Boxer Rescue will provide training options, hand signal training tips, pack socialization and support for Reeses new owner free of charge.
